Baby Robins

DSCN3617The baby robins hatched!  A mama robin had  built a nest on a plant stand on my front step.  She lay four beautiful blue eggs. It seemed to take forever for them to hatch. Finally,  they did!  They seem to be healthy, sleeping a lot just like human babies. And opening their mouths wide for food whenever the Mama leaves and comes back to the nest.

It is reassuring to see something in nature happening the way it should, when so many parts of nature are being destroyed. The Mama robin scolds me when I get to close to the nest. I wish we had more alarms like her screeching to warn us when we getting too close to the wanton ways of destruction.
